My mom passed down these shoes to me. I think me or my brother (yes, Cory) wore these. I'll have to find that picture! I thought they were too cute when I put them on. I HAD to take a pic. No, she's not getting involved in any roller derbys that we know of.

happy Memorial Day!

We had a big day today! First off.. Emily slept 5 hours straight last night! She's doing so good! I wonder if she'll repeat it tonight?? we'll see! Today Will got of work a little early and came home. We met up with Uncle Cory, Aunt Marjie, Grandma Clo and Nana V for some lunch. We had Mexican, yum!

Next Emily and us went to Lake Ella to walk around a few times. It was so nice out! A little hot but we stopped when she wanted some lunch!

When we got home all three of us took a nice 2 hour nap all together. That was nice. We all felt very refreshed. Em didn't want to wake up, but we had to have play time before bedtime. This is what she looked like when we were trying to play with her and she wanted to sleep.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Today we had a Memorial Day cookout with our church fellowship group. This is the first time Emily was around everyone at once. She did so good and actually woke up to say hello to everyone. They got to see her awake and alert, which alot of people don't usually get to see! We took a picture of her on our way out the door. She defiantely ddin't keep the sunglasses on but she looked too cute not to share this picture!

Emily attended her first wedding today. She got all dressed up and wore some "ballet slippers" that matched her dress perfectly. She slept thru the entire wedding and most of the reception but she looked pretty anyways!

Here's a picture of Emily, mommy, and Aunt Rhianna and Miss Gabby. Emily and Gabby are 3 weeks apart. They are already borrowing shoes from eachother!

I guess there wasn't enough arm room in her crib..she had to slide her arm through the rails. I found her like this when I went to check on her the night before last. She was sleeping like a rock too!

sitting pretty

Emily has really gotten good at holding her head up and sitting in her bumbo chair. She's still a bit wobbly but that's to be expected. She really suprises herself when she's sitting up straight and her head isn't bobbing to the side. She loves her chair!

5 weeks!

Emily is 5 weeks old today! Time is flying. She's getting more alert and making more sounds now. It's so sweet! Still working on a smile a day but when you get one it's totally worth everything you did to try and get that smile!!

Emi's Auntie Rhianna and Auntie Jessica had a "Welcome Home Emily" Sunday Sundae shower for us this past Sunday. It was alot of fun. Emi slept thru the whole thing though. Here's a picture before falling asleep with Rhianna and Jessica.

Emi's first few smiles!

I don't know if it was the early morning partying her and I were doing this morning because we sure weren't sleeping. Maybe she's smiling about it now. When Will had to go to work this morning and he went to say goodbye he said he got a huge grin from her but wasn't sure if it was real. Well, I got to talking to her this morning and sure enough... it's real! We have smiles and grins! Please excuse my silly talk in the video, but Emily seemed to like it! That is what a proud, happy momma sounds like! Here's her first few smiles!

1 month old!

Emily turned 1 month old today! Happy 1 month sweetheart! She weighed in at the doctor today at 8lbs 1oz. She is 2lbs 1oz above her birth weight! Yay! The doctor says she is growing very very well and she's also grown 2 inches! We're so proud of our baby girl!

Okay we saw 8 pounds on the scale today! Granted, she was dressed, but she had a fresh diaper on so that wasn't making it any heavier. I am so curious to see how right on it is when she gets weighed on Friday at the dr!
This baby scale was Aunt Marjie's when she was a baby. Her parents let us borrow it. Now we can keep track of how fast Emily is growing!

4 weeks old!!

Time is certainly flying! Emi has her 1 month doctor appointment on Friday.

Okay, so Emily came to sleep with me this morning about 7:30am (daddy was at work already) she was cozy and snuggly and she slept 4 hours!! So now we know she's cozy in mom and dad's bed. She's still doing really well in her crib though!

Emily has transitioned to her nursery now. She sleeps in her own crib! Tonight will be her 4th night in the crib. I didn't think I would be ready for her to be in the crib, but the first night I did okay, and it's getting better each night we go along. I'm so proud of her! It's amazing how much they can move around at this age. But yeah, you swaddle her and like a magician she's out of the swaddle and then up next to her crib rails. She loves to have her arms out. Here's a picture I snapped tonight.

Mother's Day

Wow.. I had a mother's Day today! I'm so grateful to another mother for helping to make that happen. Here's a picture of Emily and her mommy right before church!

Emily meets Quinn

Me and Quinn's mommy met in 3rd grade. We went to separate high schools and just got back in touch a little over a year ago. Who would have thought... Our daughters playing together? Well...Emily was sleeping most of the time, Quinn was being social. We had a great time though!

That's right.. Emily met her first boys tonight. Well the first little boys I guess. They are brothers and a little over a month older than her. We went to visit Brady and Cade tonight and they were too cute! I cannot wait to show them this picture when they get older!

3 weeks old!

Emily is 3 weeks old today! It's so wonderful to watch her grow. And I mean she is growing... FAST!

splish, splash, I got a new bath tub!

Emi has graduated from sponge baths to a real bath now! We gave her a bath tonight and she seemed to like it okay! Mom and dad stayed relatively dry.

went to the zoo today!

Well, it's called the Jr. Museum or used to be called that. It's pretty much a zoo it's got animals. I remember going as a young child and so does Will but it definately wasn't as impressive as it used to be. Emily managed to sleep the entire time and we figured we wouldn't buy the annual pass unless she liked it. So, that might be the only time we go this year. Here are a few pictures we took.
We had to get a picture by the caboose, we always used to go in there when we were kids! It was funny, on our way to the caboose there was a huge group of senior citizens who stopped us. Will was carrying Emi and I swear there were like 50 of them. They all gathered around and were oohing and aahhhing over here but they were telling each other, don't touch her, she's too little. They were so cute. Emily is turning heads everywhere she goes!

my awesome co-workers put together a baby shower for us today. It was so incredibly sweet! I didn't get alot of pictures except of people who held Emily but everyone was so glad to get to meet her and spend some time with her. We had a wonderful time. Everyone was so super generous and we ended up with a TON of cute stuff! yay!

so I checked Dee's blog for a preview of the photo shoot from Friday. Oh my goodness.. I cannot say enough. These pictures are beautiful! I cannot wait to see the rest!! She did an amazing job, and of course so did Emily. They were all done in Emily's nursery with the natural light coming thru the window. The rest of the proofs should be ready to view in a few weeks.
