Emily prepares!! READY OR NOT!

If you don't know already Emily is going to be a big sister by this Thursday. We are over the moon excited and cannot wait to meet him. I don't think Emily actually realizes what is going to happen and how her world will change immensely (along with mommy and daddy's) but she is showing her baby lots of things and we're getting her ready! Also, keep checking back. Once little brother arrives we are going to move the blog to a new address for both of them. I'm not going to try and keep up with 2 separate ones for them. So get ready! We are! We can't wait to meet him!

that's what Emi was doing when I found her being very quiet today. Yup found her in momma and daddy's bathroom playing with the toilet paper. This was a first. I'm shocked she hadn't figured it out before now but I think we were just lucky.

POOF! Be gone!

Emi is sick with hopefully a 24 hour stomach virus today which caused a huge mess at Target but we didn't get out of there without this magic wand. I taught her how to "POOF" things and so apprently that's a pretty cool thing to do! Hoping my sweet princes feels better!

Sunday funday!

we threw together a quick meeting/playtime with Ryan and his momma and Rossi and her momma on Sunday. The kids shared nicely and Ryan really enjoyed the attention from the girls and the goldfish. I think he especially liked the girls. I think the girls really liked him too! Thanks for coming over you guys!

another trip to Zoinks!

this post is a little late. We went to Zoinks back on September 11 and I'm just now posting the pictures. Been kindof busy lately. We met up with Quinn and Cara and their mommas and my friend Carrie from high school who lives in Miami now was in town with her kids for a visit. We had a great time and I am the one who got in the bouncy house this time to get the girls to go down the slide- I must admit it was a blast!

a day at the park

Today Emily took hardly a nap at all, so we figured we'd get her good and tired to sleep tonight. We took her to the park. She played and played and even met a few friends there and one of them was a bigger kid that helped her on the slide and the stairs. She had a lot of fun and boy those slides sure do go fast! We found the fastest slides yet! She loved it! We also brought her ball because she loves to kick it around and then Will kicked it real high and got it stuck in a tree about 50 feet up. After several attempts of throwing sticks up to knock it loose he finally got it down and Em was happy to kick around her ball again. Thank goodness her daddy saved the day!

10 artistic little fingers

today Emily and I attempted finger painting. It wasn't Emily's first time finger painting - it was her 2nd time and her first time was beginning of June so it's been a while. This time she tried to taste the paint though. I don't think she thought it was bad because she kept sticking her fingers in her mouth. I think the art turned out great and it wasn't a HUGE mess. Overall, a success!

Emily makes using a spoon look like....fun!

Emily has been using a spoon now for a while but now she is getting to where all she wants to use is a spoon and she doesn't want ANY help. So, we let her have at it. She gets about 80% of her food in her mouth. The rest.. well...bath time is IMMEDIATELY after dinner anyways.

Gotta love those play dates! Emi sure did today she was all over the place. Trying out everyone's snacks they brought. Something new is always nice. I think she likes to "share" with everyone. Little man Wyatt joined our group today too it was so fun to see him! He's 4 months old and the only boy so far but that makes him one lucky guy! Quinn, Kaleigh, Cara, and Rossi joined in the fun too!

rainy day blues

the color blue is what I mean- this girl was anything but blue. She doesn't need to sing rain, rain, go away anymore because her new playroom is big enough to run around in! No bugs either!

Emily had an eye doctor appt on August 20th. As usual, she's doing great with her glasses and they are happy to see her. She was a bit more resistant to sit still during the exam this time and they warned us next time she will get her eyes dialated. Not looking forward to that. But yay for a good exam and a lollipop! And thanks DooDah for coming to the eye doctor with us!

DooDah came with us on a little trip up to our favorite coffee shop in Bainbridge. After that we went to the park there and climbed on the old train and fed some goats and emus some old hot dog buns. Em had a blast and laughed at the goats a lot when their horns would hit the fence or they would "maaa" at each other. Also, Em tried some of the bread to make sure it was good enough for the animals to eat. whoops! I guess it was!

Emily loves LOVES the hose. She would turn down a pool or a sprinkler just for the hose. So that's what she gets to play in on these hot summer days. Also she's learning how to water the plants, and daddy, and mommy.

Happy Birthday Hagan!

Our buddy Hagan turned 1 this past week and his birthday party was Saturday. Emi and I went and had a real nice time! Hagan- Happy 1st Birthday little guy! We love you!

Happy Birthday Christian!

Tonight we went to a 5th Birthday Party for Emily's friend Christian. It was at the park and it had just poured rain. Needless to say Emily soaked her clothes but not without having a ton of fun! The rolly slide is her favorite. I think she went down it at least 30 times. She had a hot dog for the first time too and loved it! We had a great time celebrating Christian's birthday! Happy Birthday cutie!

She did help me out and handed me everything out of the dishwasher and I suppose she didn't want to be done. She unloaded the rest of it all by herself!what a big helper!

everybody, jump, jump!

We went to ZOINKs again- this time with all the playdate girls and mommas and another friend, Ellie! We had a good time- although everyone kindof went in their own directions the mommy's didn't really get to have a talk time but it was ok the girls had fun! DooDah even stopped by for a kiss from Emily!

16 months old! - and a milestone! -and are you ready for some football!?

yes - 3 posts in one!

First- because Emily is 16 months old today yay!!

Second- because Emily went pee pee on the potty today for the first time! She was pointing at her potty when she was ready to get out of the tub so we got her out, dried her off and I grabbed a book and I sat her on her potty. We read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" about 3 times and halfway thru the 3rd time she let me hold the book and she proceeded to go pee pee!! Then her potty started singing to her! She jumped off it so quickly before I could figure out what was going on and when I realized and saw she had gone I started getting all excited and telling her what a good girl she was to go pee pee on the big girl potty. Between the potty singing and mommy getting super excited Emily started crying. This day will go down in history!

Third- because I didn't have a "16 month picture" for her I did take these few pics today while Will was watching his Packers game on tivo that he recorded last night. Emi had to get decked out in her jersey like her daddy. She already can do a "touchdown" signal so we are ready for football season!
So no, I did not take a potty picture I will have to save that one for later! But she is 16 months old today, and she is a big girl for going pee pee on the potty and she's the cutest little Packer fan I've ever known- besides her daddy! :)

she's back! the little lady who squirts the hose and likes to get herself and of course her parents wet! And yes, she gets it right every time!! Here's a few shots of her enjoying her cool off time in the hose this afternoon!

a picnic at Pebble Hill Plantation

Today Emily and I ventured over to Thomasville, GA to visit Pebble Hill Plantation and to meet up with some friends for a picnic! It was hot - I mean HOT! But it was a lot of fun! Emily gave big hugs to a big horse and the horse even got a kiss from her! Despite the heat and the gnats it was a really nice time and we can't wait to go back... in the fall weather probably :)

15 month appt stats

Today was Emily's 15 month appt (a little late) she's over 15 1/2 months already! She didn't get any shots! We had the option of splitting up the shots from this appt and her 18 month appt and we figured we'd let her go shot free and just get them all over with at the 18 month appt. So a great visit! The dr. said she's doing terriffic and didn't have to do much examining just watched her walking all over the place. Emi was pissed off when they tried to measure her head and didn't want to get her height measured either but she soon got over it.
stats are:
Height- 31"- 70th percentile
Weight- 21 pounds, 7 ounces- 35th percentile
Head Circumfrence- 47.8cm- 93rd percentile

We have a tall, smart, little lady on our hands! :)

Today we had another playdate with some girlfriends- Elizabeth and Anna got to join us this time with their momma. We had a lot of fun with bubbles and sprinklers and then lots of playtime inside! We missed you Quinn and Melissa!

zoinks!

Yesterday Will and I took Emily to this place called zoinks! We met up with Cara and her mom and dad there too! Zoinks is a place with lots of blow up bouncies for kids to run and play on. There's even recliners and couches for parents! Also a little place for kids to read books and play with legos and toys. This will definitely be a place we have to go back to. Did I mention how good Emily slept last night? She was worn out when we got home and even let us sleep in a little this morning!

a fun day at the lake

Our friends Julie and Cara invited us to hang out at the lake today. We had never been so decided to try something different. It was a lot of fun and so peaceful! So refreshing. Emily and Cara had a great time in the water and sharing lunch with each other! The girls hadn't seen each other in a while and it was so fun to see them get so excited to see each other! Thanks for the invite- we had fun!

Emily is OBSESSED with our vaccum. She loves to help when we vaccum. She has her own little one she will now push around the house. What a good thing for mommy and daddy! We will have to keep these pictures for when she is older and doesn't want to do her vaccuming chores.

15 months old!!

How did my girl grow so fast?! I cannot believe that 15 months ago today we met our beautiful daughter. She is so smart, funny, and bubbly and I cannot be more grateful to be her mommy. I haven't weighed her or measured her height today. But I wanted to say Happy 15 months to our sweet girl- she is our world and she makes us so very proud! We love you little lady!

a fun water-filled playdate!

We had a fun playdate on a day we thought would be very rainy- it turned out to be not so bad so we brought out the swimsuits and the sprinklers and the hose! Emily, Kaleigh, and Quinn had a great time running around the yard playing in the water! I think the moms had fun too- we all got at least a little wet!

Beware of Emily with a water hose- she's dangerous!! That's some COLD water! She loved it though!

Emily was supposed to feed Gracie the horse treats but instead Emily tried to eat them. We gave Emily one of her snacks- and she fed it to Gracie. We'll try again next time!
