We went for a swimming play date today with our play date ladies and had a blast! Emi is not scared AT ALL to walk right into the pool. So glad I'm there to catch her. She has no fear which scares me. She went under water a few times and had a fun time in her float for like 5 seconds and then wanted out to swim by herself. She can't swim so she wanted to run around the pool while I chased her. Emi's buddies Cara, Kaleigh, Quinn, and Rossi were there with their momma's and it was so nice to cool off! Thanks again Julie's aunt for having us! It was wonderful!

Emi's first visit to the ER

Definitely didn't want this post to ever be on here. It takes years off a momma's life, I tell you what. Will was out of town for work Thursday night and Emi started running just a small fever right before bed Thursday (I think from teething) and I gave her some motrin before bed. Well, around 1a she woke up crying so knowing she had a temp I went to get her and took her temp. It was 102.9 and so time for more motrin. I gave some to her and then took her in bed to sleep with me. She was fine and finally settled back down after giggles and some wiggling. About 10 mins later she woke up with a yell. I thought she was having a bad dream so I turned on my light and she just started seizing. I FREAKED in my mind but knew nobody was there to help ME. So I couldn't flip out like I wanted to. I immediately called 911 and they were on their way. I held her while she had convulsions and her little toes were curled under. It was SO scary and seemed like it lasted forever. It probably lasted a minute. She had stopped by the time I was off the phone w/ the 911 operator. The EMTs got here and Emi and I jumped in the ambulance and headed off to TMH emergency room. She was a trooper but didn't like all the loud noises. Good thing we had her lovey and the nice EMT guy gave her a little stuffed kitty cat to play with and let her keep it. She got checked out got poked, got shots and blood taken, etc. and in between all that took a few naps. We finally were discharged at 8a and headed home. The doctors say it was a febrile seizure which is common when a fever spikes quickly. So, we survived this first scariness and are praying that is IT... at least for this year. We are so happy she is doing better and that she is okay. Here's a pic I snapped while she was snoozing in her hospital bed with her lovey and her kitty cat. By the way, no I didn't stop to get my camera on the way to the ER this was taken w/ my phone.

Today we had a last minute lunch date with Quinn and her momma at the park! The girls had a lot of fun running around and going over the bridge and sharing rocks and pine straw and french fries with each other. Quinn got a boo boo but was so brave! It sure didn't stop the girls from having fun in this heat!

Happy Father's Day! 2009

Will had a great Father's Day! He got a pretty spiffy card from Emily with Mickey Mouse on it and also a very stylin' tie that had Emi's picture all over it! How could you go wrong?! I know being a daddy is the best thing ever for Will. He was meant to be one and I know he couldn't be more proud of his sweet little darling, Emily. Happy Father's Day!

We went camping with Emiliy's friend Cara and her family. They have an RV as well and we went over to Jacksonville and stayed at Hanna Park near Atlantic Beach. It was a TON of fun! We did the waterpark, the beach, went shopping, and even got to go to St.Augustine! Emily and Cara did so great! They had breakfast, lunch and dinner together.. and played together great- they even got wagon rides together and went on bike rides together! We had a blast with Cara and her family! Can't wait until next time!

it's already gotten super hot outside and it's been in the upper 90's the past few days. The sprinkler seemed like the only solution today! Emily had a blast..also loved it when I took the hose off to rinse her- she played with the hose for another 20 minutes! Oh and we got in the mud too!

If you ask Emily where's the princess she'll show you.. I think it's too cute because I would say SHE's the princess and she gets that right too.. but she actually has princess pajamas. She also has Dora pajamas and if you ask her "where's Dora?" or "where's the princess" even if she doesn't have her pajamas on...she always looks at her belly to find them!

Happy Birthday Ethan!

Our friend Ethan turned 6 and had a birthday party on Saturday! His party was at the Activity Pool. We had never been but we'll have to go again. Emily loved it! Ethan, we hope you had a fantastic day and enjoyed all your friends! Happy Birthday buddy!

Quinn and her momma invited us all over to play and bounce around their living room in the bouncy house! It was so much fun! Emily liked pressing her face up against the netting instead of bouncing though- she thought that was pretty funny. Kaleigh shared her crunches (Em's favorite) once she saw that cannister there was no turning back. Also Emily chowed down on Cara's lunch- she wanted nothing that I brought for her. We also had cupcakes for Cara's belated birthday playdate. Good times and great friends, can't ask for anything more!

this past week Nana V.'s siblings and a lot of our close family friends were here. Emily got to meet a few of the aunts, and uncles she hadn't met before. She hung out with everyone and loved making everyone smile so big, especially her DooDah. She's definitely a bright smile when you need one!

this past weekend Emily got a new pool from Aunt Debra for her belated birthday. It's got a slide and a dolphin that sprays out water from it's mouth. Emily LOVES it. So, we play in the pool at DooDah's house and we play with it at our house. Everywhere we go Emily loves to play in her pool! Here are some pictures from the past week in the pool.

Today is Emily's friend, Kara's 3rd Birthday. She had an art party and Emily got to do all kinds of arts and crafts. She really enjoyed it. Kara is a very special friend of Emily's and I think Emily will look up to Kara as they both grow together. Thanks for inviting us Kara, we hope today was super fun for you! We love you!
