the weekend in pictures

Saturday we went to the mall then came home and played and played and played and then went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant. Em loved it! She was smiley the whole time- she liked the atmosphere and all the waiters and waitresses loved her!

Here is Em in another pretty Sunday church dress. I know she doesn't have to dress up for church when she goes to the nursery, but I have dresses so why not? I usually won't put her in them any other time than for church! She seems to like them too!

Em loves to look at her picture board while she's on the changing table. She gets the biggest smiles! So- if you aren't on her picture board- send us a picture!

This was when mom and dad were cooking dinner- Em has a new spot she likes.. in her high chair! She doesn't use it yet just sits in it and watches us. I love this look.. it's like I'm making her smile.. SAY "CHEESE" now!! (I hope she grows up loving her picture taken!)

girls were all there were at Emily's playgroup today! We had alot of fun. I'm sure Em enjoyed it too but she slept the ENTIRE time. Okay, i think she was awake maybe 5 minutes out of the whole time but that was just for eating! All the other girls had fun though! See if you can spot Em in this collage below!

to laugh or not to laugh??!

Em was watching her mobile and cooing like crazy. I had to run get my camera! Thank goodness she was still happy when I got back with it! I know she wants to laugh so bad you can tell she's trying! She does this all the time now! Here's the little bit I caught. At the end she's not super happy but I think it's because she had the hiccups and she lost her concentration. It's so cute anyways!

Today we had our second post-placement visit with the adoption agency. I love those visits because they are really just a visit where we can gush and brag about Emily the entire time about all her accomplishments and what she's been up to. We absolutely loved it! Everyone was so happy to see her and couldn't believe how much she's grown! We are so proud, can't you tell?? Here is a picture of Emily with Helen, our SW.

After that, we went to Lake Ella and walked around, it had just rained so it wasn't too hot. It was so pretty out so we got to take some pictures!

So, mom and dad went on a date last night and they left me with my favorite aunt and uncle, Marjie and Cory. (They are my only aunt and uncle but still my favorite)
Anyways, We had alot of fun and mom made them take pictures while they were gone, so here's a few of them!

2 month checkup

Em had her 2 month checkup today and got her vaccines as well. I'm so glad Will and I were both there because I needed a hug after her shots. She had 3 of them and I've never heard her scream like that. Tears just started pouring out of my eyes. Will had to hold her while the nurse jabbed her 3 times. I have to admit she did a good job and did it very fast. I held Emi close after she was done and we both cried. I think I cried longer than she did. But before we left she smiled at me and I knew she was going to be okay.

Her update is:
weight- 10 lbs 3oz (35%)
height- 21 1/2 inches (15%)

She's doing so so well the doctor says she is doing FANTASTIC. yAY! we are doing it right! Here's a pic I got of Em after we got home. She's got 3 little band-aids on her shots and she's very sleepy today.

2 months old!

Miss Emily turned 2 months old today! Well, she will at 5:05 CST. I weighed her last week and she's hit the 10 pound mark! She doesn't go to her 2 month doctor appt until this Thursday so I'll post an update and official weight then! I'm going to start posting her monthly pics on the sidebar to the right so we can see the differences from month to month. She's getting so big! Happy 2 month birthday sweet baby girl!

happy Father's Day!

Em and mommy made breakfast for daddy this morning before church and he got a coffee mug with her picture on it and a picture montage. We had a really good day today and lots of fun. Here's a pic of Em in what she was wearing most of the day today.
We had alot of our fun yesterday. Mommy, daddy, Emily, and DooDah (grandpa V) went on a drive down to the coast and exploring. We had lunch in St.Marks and were back in time to watch the FSU baseball game.

somebody got a new pool!

When we were in St.Augustine we got a new pool for Emily for these hot FL summer days! It's a "rainbow pool" and it is a little blow up pool and can block some sun as well. We put her in it today and she loved splashing around. Well, she didn't splash herself we had to make her but she really enjoyed it! She even didn't mind the cool water! The dogs wanted to get in the pool too but we didn't let them. They just watched from the outside.

Miss Emi and I hosted our first playgroup today! A few couldn't make it but we had a good turnout! We had a time when all the girls were crying and Adam probably learned real quick that girls are moody. It was fun though. They all had a good time and we'll do it again! Check out these cuties!

8 weeks!

Em is 8 weeks old today! She started some cooing this morning too. I love hearing it but it's hard to catch on video! I'll keep trying! Here's our beautiful 8 week old girl!

7 weeks!

Being back home is nice but it didn't seem like it was time for her to be 7 weeks already! That came sneaking up on us! Emily did give us a little laugh this morning for the first time. We were talking about poop to her when she did. I am curious what other conversations will be like that she'll laugh at later.

Emily's first camping trip

and... our first vacation as a FAMILY!
We had a really good time. Emily was such a trooper. She slept the entire way to St.Augustine with the exception of a stop for a bottle and then slept the entire way home today. She had a big day on Monday and we did so much I think she had too much to take in. We went to the beach, had lunch, went shopping, and then walking around the historic district and then out to dinner. She was EXHAUSTED to say the least. That was the first bit of crankiness we experienced with her and her "happy camper" onesie that I made her was not what she was. But, we called it a night about 6:30 and she slept REALLY well. Both nights she did very well and I know we'll definately do it again but we'll stay for a bit longer so we don't have to fit so much stuff in for one day. Here are a few pictures we took when we were there!

We had a really good time. Really, so did Emily- she's such a cutie pie and loved the outdoors! She really likes looking at the trees and the light from the sun. I think she'll be a great little happy camper again soon!
