second fastest beach trip ever!

Today we went to the beach- down to St.George Island.. It was such a beautiful day but the wind was blowing so hard we got our little tent for Emi set up and sand was blowing in. So yeah.. that was our 10 minute to the beach trip! We packed up and headed to the pavillions - we didn't even get back on the beach. We had so much fun though- we set out the picnic blanket and Emi's towel and we played and had a good time in the shade with no sand! yay! Emi tried mommy and daddy's grapes and she liked them.. we just had to be careful when she actually bit off of some. Then we headed to lunch at Harry A's and had lunch. We were the only ones there for the most part and Emi sure did charm the waitresses. One even ended up asking to hold her- Em was so happy to give her smiles and of course a HUGE burp! It was hilarious! We had a nice family day and even though it was a fast trip on the beach we made a great day out of it! Here's a few snapshots!

a member of the clean bowl club

When Emily wanted to eat out of the bowl all by herself mommy said to herself "let her be little-she's only that way for a while" so she cleaned her bowl... licked it clean

tutu cute!!

Well, mommy got crafty and made Em a dress up tutu! (thanks Melissa for your tips and instructions!) Em loves it and I'm sure she'll get a lot of use out of it as she grows. I'll probably have to make a few more! Here's our tiny dancer's photo shoot!

animals!!

We had such a fun day today. We went to the Jr.Museum aka Museum of Natural Science. We took Emily there when she was 4 weeks old. (See previous trip) She was awake the entire time this time though! She got to see all the animals and we had a nice nature walk and saw all kinds of animals.
We of course had to stop for a little snack along the way.
Emily saw some snakes and got to play the piano at the old church

we climbed up into the caboose too!

and of course we couldn't leave without a self-family portrait

picnic lunch!

After baby time today Emily and I met Audrey for lunch! We had a good time at the park and it was nice and overcast so it wasn't too hot! Emily really enjoyed meeting Audrey and spending time with her. She loves meeting new people! We'll have to do it again soon Audrey!

baby time!

Emily and I went to baby time at the library today for the first time. We met a few other moms there with their babies. There were actually a TON of moms and babies but only a few that we knew. Quinn and Emily really seemed to enjoy it- so did us moms!

in case you get a suspicious email...

Emi did it!!! Just kidding- she is AMAZED at the keyboard and when I type so she likes to help now. Pretty soon she'll be posting to her own blog!

5 months old!!!

Where oh where did our baby go?! She's growing so fast and getting so big! She definitely has changed a lot in this past month, with starting solids, and sleeping 12 hours thru the night and just getting her own personality. She loves the mirror and loves to watch other babies. She also likes it when other people make her smile. We definitely have a HAPPY baby! No teeth yet- but we're working on them I'm sure!

love bug

Emily and I went on a walk outside today it is getting a little more bearable out there. After our walk we came up to the yard and just sat in the grass and had a fun time taking pictures, laughing and talking. I cannot believe my little love bug is going to be 5 months old tomorrow! I want to keep her little! oh yeah...and it's love bug season once again here in FL (inspiration for our love bug post)

hi Hagan!!

Emily met little Hagan today- he's almost 1 month old. I'm so used to Em being the little tiny baby but not anymore!! She's the bigger kid for a change! Nice to meet you sweet Hagan!

always something new!

Wow- tonight we introduced a sippy cup. Em took it and sipped right out of it. Unbelievable. She was kindof shocked to get water out of it but she really seemed to think she was a grown up girl drinking from a sippy cup with dinner. It amazes us how fast she learns and does new things!
after that.. she ate the most that she's ever eaten without spitting out a bunch. she ate a few tablespoons of butternut squash mixed with pears (her favorite so far) and after that in between her sips of water she was still hungry so we fed her some prunes. She had quite the dinner tonight and it was the messiest we've had yet but it was also so much fun! Where is our baby going? She's growing up so fast!

there's a monkey on my shoulder!

it's so hilarious to watch Emily. She JUST noticed in her swing this little monkey that is on her head rest. She is wondering why he is there and not moving around. She just stares at him like he's not supposed to be there. She's got her eye on him!

nice job on the pears, mom!

Okay so first time trying pears and this is DEFINITELY a winner for Em! She LOVES them! She ate almost the entire bowl that I had for her, only left about 2 bites. *Notice there are barely any pears on her bib!

FLORIDA STATE FLORIDA STATE FLORIDA STATE...WOOOOOOOH!!!

Em got all dressed up in her only FSU gear today for their first game. She actually wasn't going but mommy and daddy were. Then they got rained on....So, Em was pretty much the only dry FSU fan!

my ears sparkle!

today mommy and daddy got my ears pierced. I did pretty good and didn't cry as much; shots are way worse. I also got my ears pierced with one of my best buddies, Gabby. She came with me for moral support but she made me go first. Now we both have sparkling ears and we don't even remember being sad! Mommy and Daddy are very proud of me! Here's how it happened..mommy's story in pictures..

rock, paper, scissors, who goes first Gabby?
okay, I guess I won.....or lost?! I go first!
I had to make mommy feel bad by looking right at her as she snapped my picture but it wasn't too bad, I didn't cry too hard and I fell right asleep Gabby's turn!
happy girls with pretty sparkly earrings!

bananas didn't go over well...

she didn't make horrible faces at bananas she just spit them ALL out.. ALL of them... we don't like bananas yet...we'll keep trying!

the many hats of Emily

today I went thru all the hats we have for Emily. More than half of them are too small now- but we managed to get pictures of all the ones that DID fit! Some of them have plenty of room to grow as well! Thanks for being mommy's cooperative hat model today Em! xoxo

happy Labor Day!

thank you for staying away hurricane Gustav!
Today was a pretty good day! Daddy got off work early and Doodah got back into town last night so he and Grandma Clo came to visit today! Emily was very happy to see her Doodah! And I know he was more than thrilled to see her!We also got to work on practicing Em's sitting up! She does pretty good but sometimes it looks like she's doing yoga! She's definitely learning her balance though!

Also today mommy, daddy, and Emily went to the Antique car museum. Em did so good in her stroller sitting front ways (this was only her 2nd time) and then she got to ride in the bjorn (her and daddy's favorite) She really enjoyed herself!
