Emi's two teeth tooth brush

Emi doesn't quite get the concept of brushing teeth yet of course; even though we do brush her two teeth with a little finger brush (she loves it) Well I brush her hair too and I think she just loves the feeling of bristles on her gums and teeth. So I guess this is the beginning of good dental health. Right?! It certainly doesn't seem to be a bad thing.

mmm..mmmm...MMMM!

Emily was eating her yogurt this afternoon and like always she makes her mmm mm sounds after every bite. I think she learned it from listening to us. I just think it's hilarious though. She does this at every meal. It's her way of saying "mmmm that was good.. more please"

We went to a fun fundraiser for charity today for the Children's Home Society. It was Putting for Kids! Daddy, Mommy, Aunt Marjie, and me were a team and we were 3 points away from the best score! We had a lot of fun. I golfed with my daddy the whole time. I'm his good luck charm! Here are a few pictures mommy took. She's always got that camera around!

Em got to meet most of my dad's side of the family while we were in AZ. Great Grammy is sick and she is not doing well- but she did get to see Emily. Emily got to hold her hand and I snapped a picture. Here's pictures with some of the people Em got to meet!

Emi's first Halloween

Well, we didn't exactly get to bring Em's costume out to AZ since it was a last minute-un-planned trip. But the cousin's all dressed up and trick or treated from Great Grammy's house. Cousin Jim brought over a humongous pumpkin and he and Tyler and Joshua carved it as Emily looked on. Then we put her inside it for a few fun pictures! We went to walk around with the cousins to trick or treat but didn't even make it out of the driveway and she was screaming so she didn't like walking in the dark we passed out candy at Great Grammy's for a little while.

Em did FANTASTIC on the plane both ways. It was a few long flights but she did not give us any trouble whatsoever. She got a lot of smiles from others and everyone couldn't believe how happy and smiley she was the whole time. (and sleepy too) She slept good on the plane- put mom and dad's arms to sleep!

going to visit Great Grammy Gwen

We're packing up and Emily is helping.. We're going to visit her Great Grammy Gwen and we're leaving tomorrow. This will be Emily's first plane ride and longest trip away from home yet! We're flying to Arizona. She is excited to meet her Great Grammy and some of her great aunts and uncles and cousins! We'll be back!
I hope we didn't forget anything!

a rainy pajama day

Em and I might just stay in our pj's all day today. It's rainy out so we're staying put for the first time in a while. Daddy is working and we're just having some fun mommy/Emi time. A pajama party!

lighthouses and butterflies

We took a family trip down to the coast today to St.Marks National Wildlife Refuge. Apparently the monarch butterflies are migrating south with this first cold snap. So we wanted to go see some butterflies! Well, apparently they aren't all down here yet now so we didn't see a bunch. We did see some though. Em saw the lighthouse and we saw 2 alligators and a field trip of kids that LOVED Emily (the girls anyways) Here are a few pictures from our day.

When we told Emily who won the baseball game last night and who was going to the World Series we got quite a reaction from her!

ladies and gentlemen....we have a TOOTH!

yes, that's right! Em's bottom right tooth has emerged! I felt it for the first time this morning! We are so used to her gummy smile I am not quite sure what she'll look like with teeth but I'm guessing REALLY CUTE! Of course she wouldn't let momma take a picture of it. But you know I'll post a pic as soon as she lets us see!

Emi is relaxin'....

Nana V made this custom cushion to go on the bench that Doodah made for Em a while ago. We got the cushion from Nana V today and it is PERFECT! It's got frogs all over it and Emi loves it! There's nothing better that a nice comfortable place to read a book and to sit by the window. Thanks again Nana V! Love you!

splishy-splashy!

Em is loving bath time even more now that she's sitting up. She gets to splash with her hands! We're getting more wet too but it's all fun!! She splashes herself in the face and gets a suprised look and then does it again, and again.....

Pumpkin Festival!

Today we went to the pumpkin festival in our town and had a great time- we met a few friends there and one of Emily's best friends was there Gabby. Emily got to see more pumpkins and lots of people. She had a good time- even got to take a nap. Emily was wearing her pumpkin shirt that Jenn made her. It was perfect- the weather was nice and cool and we saw lots of people we knew!

6 months old!!!

Emily is 6 months old today!!! Where has the time gone?! Our baby is growing so fast and so perfectly!! She had her 6 month checkup today and weighed 15lbs, 11oz. and was 26 1/4" long. She has learned so much in such a short period of time. We look forward to the next 6 months.. and the next.. and the next... She is SUCH a happy baby loves to laugh and smile- her favorite new thing to laugh at is when mommy says "sweet potato" She thinks it's the funniest thing! Here is her 6 month picture that we took today! I think the blanket it getting smaller... wait.. she's GROWING!(see the 4 little band aids on her legs?? she got shots today and is still this happy!)

tonight we went to dinner to celebrate Uncle Cory's 25th birthday (yay!) After Em signed his birthday card... we packed up and headed out and Em sat in a big girl high chair at the restaurant for the very first time! She did so good! She also loved sucking on a roll- pretty much turned it right back into soggy dough! mommy and daddy are *so* proud of Miss Em! Happy Birthday Uncle Cory! (10/14)

the pumpkin patch!

we met up with Quinn and her mommy again today at the pumpkin patch and also got a bonus Aunt Jessica to meet us there! Em did not seem overwhelmed at all with all the pumpkins- she really enjoyed tasting the hay and the pine straw...I think she likes that more than bananas!

So I understand it's not Halloween yet but we will be out of town for Halloween- so.. here are some preview pics of Em in her ladybug costume. I'm taking her to a pumpkin patch tomorrow but she won't be in her costume so I had this photo op today in our front yard and I have to share.

playtime with Quinn

Quinn and her mommy Melissa came over today and we played and we both loved the beach ball and our vtech books! Of course the mommies had to take a zillion pictures! We all missed you Kaleigh and Tina! Hope you feel better!

thank you Aunt Geri for these glasses! Emi loves them! Believe it or not she likes it better and could wear them all day when the shades are flipped up. She's got room to grow in them too- they even fit mommy!

wwwweeeeeeee!!!!

Emi loves this beach ball her daddy got her at one of his conferences- she likes to hold it but most of all she loves to lean on it and push her feet off the floor like she's flying on top of it. I had to get some pictures of her playing on it tonight!

all this is really new to me...

sitting up, balancing on all fours.. hmmm... practice makes perfect!Em has been practicing sitting up and she's doing better every day- today she did really good though. Still can't stop moving long enough to sit in one place but she doesn't mind falling to one side or the other. She likes to balance herself with her arms straight out to her side. With being on all fours she doesn't put herself in that position yet but if I put her down on the floor she will put her arms and legs out like that and then go down to her tummy. Of course with all the concentrating she's doing she likes to blow raspberries- she does that 24/7 now!

this thing is a teether right?! Pretty much Emily doesn't like the pacifier anymore for pacifier purposes..she loves to chew on it now and try to fit the whole thing in her mouth.

Em and I went into town and I was carrying her in the bjorn.. we just walked around to different stores in our little town. Three older women thought she was a boy!! she was wearing a pink hat with a bow.. and a flowery shirt..and pink shoes.. hmm.... how could you get that wrong?! This is what she was wearing minus the sunglasses.. I think that's pretty girlie.. don't you?
