my ears sparkle!

today mommy and daddy got my ears pierced. I did pretty good and didn't cry as much; shots are way worse. I also got my ears pierced with one of my best buddies, Gabby. She came with me for moral support but she made me go first. Now we both have sparkling ears and we don't even remember being sad! Mommy and Daddy are very proud of me! Here's how it happened..mommy's story in pictures..

I had to make mommy feel bad by looking right at her as she snapped my picture but it wasn't too bad, I didn't cry too hard and I fell right asleep Gabby's turn!

she didn't make horrible faces at bananas she just spit them ALL out.. ALL of them... we don't like bananas yet...we'll keep trying!

the many hats of Emily

today I went thru all the hats we have for Emily. More than half of them are too small now- but we managed to get pictures of all the ones that DID fit! Some of them have plenty of room to grow as well! Thanks for being mommy's cooperative hat model today Em! xoxo

Today was a pretty good day! Daddy got off work early and Doodah got back into town last night so he and Grandma Clo came to visit today! Emily was very happy to see her Doodah! And I know he was more than thrilled to see her!We also got to work on practicing Em's sitting up! She does pretty good but sometimes it looks like she's doing yoga! She's definitely learning her balance though!

Also today mommy, daddy, and Emily went to the Antique car museum. Em did so good in her stroller sitting front ways (this was only her 2nd time) and then she got to ride in the bjorn (her and daddy's favorite) She really enjoyed herself!

uh oh- applesauce

okay, I (mommy) have been making Em's baby food. Well, we tried applesauce for the first time tonight. I used organic apples and cooked them and pureed them last week and then I froze them in ice cube trays. I tasted it and it was great. Well, to an adult it is great but I think it was a little tart for Emily. Um, check out these pictures and the video. Yeah, we mixed it with oatmeal and it was a bit more tolerable. Maybe mommy needs to BUY the baby food applesauce??!! These pictures make it look like we're feeding her lemons!

Our little princesses are getting so big! We hadn't had a play date in a while and now they are all doing different things, Quinn and Kaleigh are crawling and sitting up and Em is doing good on her tummy and rolling over. They change so quickly! Can't wait to see you guys again Quinn, Kaleigh and your mommies! Aubrey , we missed you and your mommy! Hope to see you next time!Emily was WORE OUT after play date today.. she slept for a little over 3 hours after her friends left! I couldn't believe it! I snapped a few pictures of our tired girl. She never woke up when I moved her to her crib.

okay so this picture won't really go with the post but I took this picture yesterday and the face she's making is just too sweet- I think it's pretty darn cute if you ask me!

Emily did real good at the doctors today, even mommy did okay, well better than last time. I think for Em it had something to do with the Tylenol having PLENTY of time to kick in before her shots because our appt was at 10:30a and the shots weren't until 12:30p. Nice long wait. She loves her pediatrician and he got big smiles from her today. Thank goodness he wasn't the one giving the shots! She is healthy and is doing great! Her weight was 13lbs 10oz but we had JUST fed her a 6oz bottle. So, my weight guess the other day may have been more accurate. Her height was 24 1/4 inches. She's growing so fast! Her weight is in the 55% and her height in the 50%. She's just perfect!

Night 2 of rice cereal went REALLY well. She really seems to like it a lot and is hardly spitting any out! She's learning to eat like a big girl. We are so very proud of her!

Tonight we gave Em some rice cereal for the first time. It was quite fun and she wasn't sure what to think at first but in the end she was liking it. We only fed her a little bit and will try again tomorrow.

4 MONTHS OLD!

Happy 4 months Emily!

From our scale at home we think she weighs 13lbs 4oz and our best judgement is 25 inches! Emi has her 4 month dr visit on Monday and we'll update the correct stats then! We're excited to see all the new things she learns this month!

Emily's Adoption Day!

Starting today we are calling August 12th our "Family Day". Will and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary today as well as celebrating Emily's official adoption. This special date made us a family 8 years ago, and again today.

We went swimming again today and bought Emi a new float. I think next thing we need to think about is getting a pool at our home! Emi just LOVED it!Em & Uncle Cory

it was just last week we tried to put her in her exersaucer and she was still too tiny and her toes didn't reach. Well, today we tried it.. and she fits! WOW! She really seems to like it! She's not moving much in there but she can spin around slowly and reach out and grab a hold of everything she sees!

fastest beach trip EVER!

We had to get to the beach during our trip. Em has already been to the Atlantic Ocean and now she's put her feet in the Gulf of Mexico! I'd say she's well traveled at 3 1/2 months.

We knew we weren't getting in so we wore our regular clothes over to the beach. Plus, it was too hot out there for Emily. There are 2 red flags up that means NO SWIMMING. The tides are very dangerous right now. Anyways, We got our quick pic of Em in the shade on her towel (stealing some one's umbrella shade...thanks) and then daddy stuck her feet in the water and we both got CRASHED by a wave...niiice. Yes we were soaked from the waist down. Emi was the only dry one in the bunch. Five minute beach trip.... yeah, that was fun!

Since we're on vacation Em got to stay up a little later than usual and so we went swimming with her last night. She loved it! There was a little wading pool for kids just Em's size and we had it all to ourselves! Here's a few pictures from the pool last night.

I finally figured out something I could get Em to laugh at! We're on a mini vacation right now and she is having SUCH a good time. I think she likes the change of scenery! Here's a video of something new we did yesterday. Who knew it was so funny?! This is just a little dose of her laugh.. she usually has bigger belly laughs.
