an EXTREMELY fun day!

Emily and I met up with our friends Julie and Cara to go check out the Extreme Home Makeover set here in town. Tomorrow is the big reveal to the family so we decided we should go check it out today! We got to see Paige and Michael but no Ty. We also ran into Tammy and Anna there! It was a gorgeous day too so afterwards Julie and I took Cara and Emily to a nearby park so they could stretch their legs and have some lunch! What a fun day!

OOOOOHHHH! OHHHHHHHHH! OH!

If you have been around Emily even just a little bit lately you have probably heard her say "OOOHH" and you know she really means it. She sees something real neat. Well, in this case it's her favorite. Birds. There are these huge birds that fly around in the sky every evening around 5pm every night at our house. She LOVES to watch them. And she just keeps saying OOOH oooooh OOOOOHHHHHH. It's so cute. I don't know where she got the OOOHs from but she makes sure we don't miss the birds either! I will try to catch her on video next time we see the birds. Oh and she doesn't just OOOH at the birds.. it could be anything.. the birds get extra OOOHs though.

Emily is ALL ABOUT PICKLES since we gave her one a few weeks ago. She inhales them! I am not a huge fan of pickles at all.. but Will is.. they are two of a kind!

TGI Friday Playdate!

We had a fun play group on Friday at our house- we had a new little chica join us, Miss Rossi. She is 3 months old but she'll be rolling around and playing with the big girls in no time! We had to stay inside this time because it was too cold outside! Lots of fun though!

a visit to the eye doctor!

I took Emily to her 3 month eye glasses check-up.. hard to believe it's been 3 months already but yet it seems longer! Dr.Sherman was happy to see her and said she was doing perfect with the glasses! He was very pleased. He said she'll probably be wearing them throughout childhood and that we probably want to soon think about a back-up pair of glasses. When they start walking is when lots of scratches and dents happen to the glasses. So.. we'll see what kind of "stylish" frames we can get next time as backup glasses- for people to ask "are those real?"

lunch with a friend...

Emily and I went to Cara's house for lunch today. Julie, Emily and I loved the eggplant parmesan- thank you! After lunch the girls played outside- it was a gorgeous day! They especially loved the swing! I can tell these girls are going to be friends for a long time to come!

10 months old!

Emily is 10 months old today! Where has time gone?! She has been SUPER busy this past month. She has went from doing an army crawl, to crawling on all fours, pulling up to a stand, and now cruising. I see walking in her future! Her personality just blossoms more every day. She also got her 2 top teeth this month as well- you can't see them too good yet when she smiles so hopefully in the next few weeks we'll get some toothie pictures! She knows we love to make her smile and she does the same with us. She loves to make us smile by being crazy and goofy! She has tried a whole bunch of new foods and right now there is nothing she doesn't like. She is a very good eater but I'm not sure where this little lady puts it all!
Emily is 18lbs, 5oz and 28 3/4 inches. What a big girl!

Happy Birthday Kaleigh!!

Monday, Feb 9th was Kaleigh's 1st Birthday! We celebrated with her today and the girls played at the park! We had cupcakes and lots of fun. Wishing you another fun-filled year Kaleigh! Hugs and Kisses!

a nice long weekend at the beach!

We headed down Friday morning to St.George Island with some friends of ours and their daughter, Cara, who comes to play dates with Emily. We stayed at their beach house and had an incredibly wonderful and relaxing time. The girls had a lot of fun together too! It was gorgeous weather and it couldn't have been more perfect! Happy Birthday Nana V.!

Today we celebrated Nana V's birthday! We went to eat pizza and had a fun time. (Emily ate a 1/2 of a 6" cheese pizza by the way!) We always have fun with the family! Love you Nana V!

Also today, Emily's top left tooth popped out! We have a top tooth! Now to work on that other top one.. this one was very hard work! (Emily won't let me ever see her top gums so we don't have a top tooth picture just yet) But- Emily is pointing to the tooth that did come in!

we did a last minute get together with Quinn and Cara and their mommies at baby time at the library today. It was a ccccccold day here so we wanted to find something to do inside. The girls had a great time and really enjoyed the puppet show!we're glad we went again.. it's been a long time.. look at the difference between the pictures below.. Quinn and Emily are much bigger now!

Emily reminds me of Madonna the material girl in these pictures.. Em is such a goof and a show-off - here she is loving the attention she's getting in her tutu, sunglasses and big bow.. it all started when I tried the tutu on her again...then..tried on her sunglasses- she actually kept them on really good! Oh what fun dressing up is!

Emily has gone exploring since she can get around pretty easily now. I followed her into the office and she found our shred pile. Surprisingly she didn't try to eat any of it and she didn't shred any of it for us! Oh well- she had fun, that's what counts!

a beautfiul day at Maclay Gardens

Today we went to play and take pictures with Cara and her mom at Maclay Gardens. It was such a nice day out! We even had a picnic! The girls of course are used to having their pictures snapped so they did WONDERFUL for the camera! What beautiful little ladies! And Cara's mom Julie too!

Ryan and his mommy came over for dinner tonight and to play- Last time they weren't too sure about each other but this time.. they hit it off great! Look at these sweeties!Ryan is definitely a ladie's man-he's already got Emi's heart!

9 month dr visit

Emily is PERFECT (but we already knew that!) She got a clean bill of health at the doctor today- she is growing just great! She got a lot of smiles at the doctor and gave quite a bit too. We got lucky today. Usually we're there at least 2 hours but we got there about 15 mins early and were out of there within 25 minutes! She did have to get her flu booster shot which I didn't know she'd be getting but I just held her and made her giggle and she didn't cry at all! I was impressed! Easy Peasy! Her stats are as follows:

Height- 28 3/4" (85th%)
Weight- 18lbs (35th%)

She is crawling EVERYWHERE now.. it's amazing- it's just like a switch that goes off one day they aren't crawling all that much and the next BAM learned something new! She is a busy little lady! We're having fun keeping up with her!

it's been a busy weekend...

I've had a fun time but I've been busy playing, crawling, and standing. My crawling has gotten much easier; I don't like the army crawl too much anymore.. that's for beginners.. I'm up on all fours now.. I scared mommy and daddy into child proofing the cabinets and the rest of the house.. so it was a busy weekend for them too!

From Emily - 10th month

Happy Birthday Quinn!

Today we went to a birthday party/play date for Quinn! She turned 1 last Friday! (She is exactly 3 months older than Emily! They have known each other for their whole lives! We celebrated with cupcakes! Emily liked them a lot! Happy Birthday Quinn!

Houston......we've got a HAIR problem...

.....and it's lasted all day! Water didn't even help! Any tips??!! :) Emily woke up this morning with a mohawk that got progressively worse as the morning went on.. in the evening it was a little more calm but we have some wild hairs going on here!

the 9 month picture..

I just got home with Emily about 2 hrs ago and got things unpacked I figured I might as well get this picture done NOW! She's just happy to be out of the car- but I got her dressed with her onesie and her blanket on the floor and told her I was gonna go get the camera.. this is the first shot I got..Come on now.. it's not that bad is it?! :) I weighed her and she is right at 18lbs and that's with a diaper on and still right around 27 1/2 inches. We go to the dr for her 9 month checkup next Monday so we will see how accurate my weight and length measurements are! Here's the "OFFICIAL" picture for 9 months!(oh and nevermind the red knees- that's from crawling around and standing!)

9 months old!!

Where has the time gone?! Our little lady is 9 months old today! She certainly is growing and changing so much these days! There's something new every day it seems! She loves to make us laugh, she loves to travel and see new places. She took her first real crawling "steps" on all fours just two days ago! She's going to be moving fast before too long! Emily also has expanded her appetite. She loves LOVES cheese (yay Wisconsin cheeseheads!) and pretty much anything we feed her now she will eat. I think she prefers the Italian cuisine though such as pizza, spaghetti, etc. oh and I know Cheetos puffs aren't Italian but she LOVES the Gerber graduate cheese crunchies and veggie dip crunchies! We must keep a can around at all times.. or else!! Her vocabulary has expanded a little too. This month it started with mamamamama... yes she said mama! and then very quickly changed to bababababa and has kept up with that ever since! So.. we're still working on mama and of course still working on dada as well! She tries to say BOOK but ends up saying "boooo" or "oook" never together though. She LOVES to read. Definitely a book worm! She is doing so great with everything and we just can't believe she's already 9 months old! Time sure does fly! She's not so much a baby anymore! And to imagine, this time last year we hadn't even heard about her; yet she was already so loved!

*a monthly picture will be taken tomorrow- we are out of town now and have no access to the blanket or onesie we would make for her 9 month picture-I'll add it to this post as soon as I get it done -also her weight and length for her 9 months will be added. Thank you for your patience (hahaha)

This morning while mommy was packing us up to go see daddy out of town we had the dogs in because it was so cold out. Thumper shared some puppy love and kisses.

Today was Aunt Marjie's birthday and we celebrated by going out to dinner. We had a lot of fun! We made funny faces together and everyone laughed! I hope you had a great day Aunt Marjie! Love you!

Emily travels to Jacksonville

Our family and DooDah took a trip to Jacksonville this week. We had a ton of fun! First off.. Wednesday we went to (uncle)Greg's commissioning ceremony. He became an officer of the U.S. Navy. We are SO proud of him! Emily did very well during the ceremony, she was very quiet and respectful. After the ceremony we enjoyed a reception for Greg near the beach. It was a beautiful day!

We also took a separate trip to the beach on another day with DooDah. It was so much fun! It was a little cool out so Emily had on her sweater outfit that Debra gave her for Christmas! I took her socks off to let her feet get in the sand and she LOVED it! With the wind blowing and the sand in her toes she was having too much fun! She even ate some sand and enjoyed it!

Also, Emily went to the zoo for the VERY FIRST TIME! We had such a great time taking her to the zoo and she stayed awake the entire time! There was so much to see. Highlights include feeding a giraffe with daddy, and then feeding little birds some nectar with mommy and daddy- that was the funniest thing to Emily- she loved the birds. They were freaking mommy out a little bit so I am not sure if she was laughing at mommy or the birds that were yelling in my ear! Also, we got to see a jaguar hunting. He jumped in the water and was swimming and trying to catch some fish! We never saw him succeed but he kept trying! Also, at the zoo Emily got to take her first and second carousel ride! She didn't cry- she loved it! I think Emily is definitely a traveling kind of girl- she LOVES it! If only we didn't have to pack up half the house to leave!

Today Emily's "girls" came over to play. They brought their mom's too! What fun it is for us mom's to watch our girls play and they have been playing together since they were born! Now the oldest one, Quinn is about to turn 1 and then everyone else will follow shortly thereafter! What a blast these girls always have! It's so great to see their smiling faces!

I took Emi outside yesterday to practice "strolling" with her new walker she got for Christmas. Although she's not really taking steps yet she really likes it! Also I wanted to try out my new camera! Lots more pictures of Emily to come!

Today was daddy's birthday and we all went out for pizza and then to the park! Daddy also got "happy birthday" sung to him by the wait staff and he blew out a candle.. I was watching so I could practice in a few months. We had fun at the park and had such a nice day! I love you daddy! Happy Birthday! Ohh--- and HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! It's 2009!
